IASI Workshops

This Workshop was the first activity in the program of IASI aimed at the Professional Sector. It was held in Buenos Aires on March 12 - 13, 2001, jointly organized by IASI and the Technological Institute of Buenos Aires (Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires - ITBA), and counted with the auspices of Minera Alumbrera Ltd. The Workshop comprised: (a) a Conference for Executives, on "Statistical Tools for Quality Improvement in Competitive Markets"; and (b) a Seminar on Analysis and Design of Industrial Experiments, mainly addressed to engineering professors and advanced students.

Dr. Vijay Nair, Professor and Chair, Department of Statistics, as well as Professor of Industrial and Operations Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States, and Dr. Bovas Abraham, Director of the Institute for Improvement in Quality and Productivity, and Professor in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science, at the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, were invited to carry out these activities.
